The Classical Guitar Rosette

     

    

The classical guitar rosette is one of the most beautiful parts of the guitar. It has a nice decorative design. When I first saw a classical guitar, my attention went to that part of the guitar. It’s not just a simple design. It shows the identity of the guitar.

Before I explored it, I thought it was just paint or something like that. But it is made from small wood pieces and some other natural materials. These small pieces are arranged carefully to make beautiful patterns. Every guitar maker has their own unique design for the rosette.

The rosette is not only for beauty, but it also helps to keep the area around the sound hole strong on the top of the guitar. It is a small part, but it has both artistic and practical value.

Why musician need always alone time

Music is not only sound. It is also a feeling and a way to express emotions. Because of that, musicians need time alone. I think every good work of art is born from spending time alone with pure thought.

When musicians are always around people, their mind is full of noise and distractions. When they alone everything become quiet. In that silence, they can explore new ideas, new melodies and new emotions. That quite time helps musicians to improve their creativity. I think this is the moment where a real musician is born...

Murphy’s Law in Interstellar

Interstellar is one of my favorite movies. I like this film very much. There is one small concept in this movie that really caught my attention. It is Murphy’s Law.

Murphy’s Law means, “If something can go wrong, it will go wrong.” It means if there is a chance for a mistake, it may happen. It is not a scientific law. It is just something people say when problems happen in life.

At first, I thought this was only a movie idea. But later I searched about it. Then I found it is real. It became popular in 1949. An American engineer named Edward A. Murphy Jr. said this during a rocket test. Something went wrong. Then he said, “If there is any way to do it wrong, someone will do it.” After that, people started calling it Murphy’s Law.

In Interstellar, this idea is explained in a different way. At the beginning, Murph thinks it means bad things will always happen. But Cooper explains it in another way. He says it does not mean something bad will happen. It means whatever can happen, will happen.

This is important in the story. In space, many dangerous things happen. Engine problems, time changes, accidents, and mistakes. These are not because of bad luck. They happen because they are possible. The universe follows its own rules.

So in this movie, Murphy’s Law is not about fear. It is about reality. And even if bad things can happen, good things can also happen.

How I Began to Play Fingerstyle Technique

I love music since my childhood. When my dad brought me a guitar for my birthday, I tried to learn little things about playing it. I did not know much, but I was very interested in the sound of the strings. That small interest led me to join a good guitar class. After a couple of years, I started learning classical guitar style. Through classical guitar, I also learned about fingerstyle technique.

Fingerstyle is a technique. When we listen to music carefully, we can hear many techniques as musicians. Some techniques bring more emotion to the music. In my learning period, I did not always practice properly. Sometimes I was not very serious. I made it more like a nice hobby for myself. But still, I loved playing guitar.

Now I want to tell you how I use it as my hobby. When I have free time, I always stay with my guitar. Sometimes I take my guitar and go to a nice natural place with a calm vibe. Then I try to tell a story to the beautiful view around me using my guitar notes. I always start with one note. I try to play that note for a long time and add my feelings to that one note in different ways. Then I add another note. Now I have two notes with my pure soul. Like this, I take my time and slowly add more and more notes to my feelings.

Sometimes I spend about twenty minutes having a simple conversation with those notes. After that, I am ready to tell something more meaningful to my surroundings. At that time, I create a simple melody according to my mood. Before I said, I used many notes to build my melody. Now it is time to use my fingerstyle technique properly. I add a bass line under my melody. I add harmonic notes and octave notes to make it more full and emotional. That makes my music feel complete.

This is my practice. I like to create and add different things using fingerstyle technique. When I play guitar alone, all the soulful notes must mix together at one time. Because of that, I continue to develop my fingerstyle patterns and improve myself.
